A Dream for a Better World

It astonishes me that people cry “lawsuit” or “Fire him” just because Keith Bardwell told the truth and has his OWN personal beliefs on interracial marriages.  Keith Bardwell said he wouldn’t marry an interracial couple because he was afraid for their children.

Let me ask you something, say you are strictly religious, whether it be Catholic, Baptist or any of the other “respectable” Christian Religion.  Let’s also assume you own a business.  Would you do business with Devil Worshipers or with Jehovah’s Witnesses?  You would be breaking the law if you refused based solely on religion.  The EXACT same law he is breaking dealing with race.

I like Keith Bardwell, for he was honest in his reasons for not marrying them.  He could have lied like many other people who want to get around such laws.

You know, I thought living in America meant we have our right to our OWN opinions whether right or wrong.  As long as someone is available to marry that couple, what harm is being done?

Since America is such a Litigious Society, I am surprised lawyers are not going around and trying to sue or press charges against anyone who did not vote for Obama ONLY because he was black.  Technically if you didn’t vote for him SOLELY because he was black then you were in fact breaking the law.  But, that is the nice thing about America – we have our own rights to do and think as we please as long as no one gets hurt.  Keith was honest, but I don’t see people being honest with their own items that they discriminate against.

Here we are, an advanced society and yet we try to FORCE people to be open minded.  We try to FORCE people to accept same-sex marriages, mixed marriages, even force conscientious objectors to defend this country.  Why?  It would be like allowing Jehovah’s Witnesses the right to FORCE us in believing in their religion.  We educate people then we allow them to have their own beliefs.

Many companies will break discrimination laws but give other reasons.  I have seen it.  I am sure you have too.  Yet, we try to persecute Keith Bardwell because he was honest.  He even gave good reasons!  He said he was worried about the welfare of their kids.  I know 20 some years ago when I was growing up, children of mixed marriages were looked down on and many of the other kids would treat them badly.  So, I UNDERSTAND his thoughts.  I am NOT saying he is right, but I am saying he should have his  right to his own beliefs, because forcing him to marry them would go against the very core of who we are, Americans, with the right to our OWN beliefs.

What if I owned my own store and sold alcohol but because of my personal beliefs, I didn’t sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 25.  Or what if I owned a dangerous factory (a place that people could EASILY get hurt, say a steel factory) and I said you had to be at least 25 to work there because I was afraid of younger ones being careless and hurting themselves.  It sounds like good excuses, but by the same token I would be breaking the law.  We need to make changes.  We need the right to our own beliefs as long as we don’t physically hurt people.  I am sure our black president would agree, that people deserve the right to think however they want, even if they want to be KKK members, as long as they are peaceful KKK members, not like of times past.

I am sure each of us have our own hidden discrimination.  Whether it be against homosexuals/lesbians, those with Aids, blacks, maybe against a certain race like Germans because of your hatred over Hitler, or towards people with disfiguring diseases.

Come on people, there was no harm done.  They could EASILY get married by someone else, so leave Keith Bardell alone and allow him his right to his own beliefs, whether right or wrong!

We Need Changes.  We need to find a way to not discriminate as big companies or governments but allow individual employees in the government and in the big companies the right to their own beliefs.  As long as there are employees who will get the job done, why is there a problem?  Unless you want to force everyone to think like you and that is NOT the American way.

Please people join with me and help me fight this and other atrocities in America.

I recently watched “Funny Games” in which two guys play with families in these rich houses then kill them all including the children.  It reminded me of those distressed people who lose their jobs and kill their family in a murder/suicide.  I am sorry, but how does killing children help at all?  Why would a movie put that in their script?  Why would a man who lost his job kill his own family?  His kids?  Kids are innocent.  Yes, they do bad things, but they don’t know what they are doing, they are children.  There cannot be 1 good reason to kill a child.

I understand America is against using torture but to have the same criminal sentence for a man to kill a child versus a man killing a man, is wrong.  There just has to be stronger laws against killing children.  It is the only way to even let a bad man to prevent a child who might be in the way.

I do wish that America could consider changing their laws to make the killing of children worst than killing of an adult.

Many crimes in America have the so called “Statute of Limitations”. Some as long as 7 years (bank robbery in some states) and very short, 1 year or less (personal injury).   Many years ago you could sue the insurance company, now you have to the sue the person that does the damage.  This causes a real problem, as the guilty party may have moved. I remember when I was involved in a car accident and I had to go to physical therapy (my therapist would laugh and show the other therapist what happens when he moved my head, my entire body would move, I was extremely stiff).  I was unable to sue for pain and suffering because he had moved and his insurance company refused to give me his new address, saying it was not in their best interest to help me.  Because if I did find them then after winning, they would have to pay. So, that means I would have to hire a detective, which I could not afford to do.

Why do they allow this to go on?  Why not make it easier?  Allow us to sue the insurance company since they are the ones that pay anyway.  I mean it was clear he was the guilty party.  Stupid laws!

I remember seeing an expose on how a young girl would sell herself on the street for a small amount of money and for a few dollars more would do it without condom.  Risking her life for just a few dollars more.  Is poverty really affecting the judgement of people or are they not informed enough of the risks?

We need to stop this.

Even with a ban on ivory since 1989 Elephants and Rhinos are still being killed at an alarming rate.  Why can’t we stop this once and for all?

Is it really necessary that we have animal testing to make our lives better?  When do we say no?  Is there a difference between testing on mice and testing on dogs or monkey’s?  Can’t we live happily without these tests? 

Are we doing enough to end world hunger?  Should we end it at all?  When animals outnumber the food supply nature causes some to die of hunger.  By preventing world hunger are we causing more problems down the line?  If we should stop world hunger are we doing enough?  Are some of these charities taking too much of the pie before the food and money gets to the poor?

When you consider that the most of the brightest pupils go off to industry to earn money, one has to imagine how strong America would be if those people were enticed to teach!  It is a shame that America falls behind many nations when it comes to pre-University learning.  This is not an opinion.  This is a fact stated in many reputable journals.  We need to be able to encourage strong people to be our teachers for tomorrow’s leaders.

In March 2007, Fidel Castro criticized President Bush’s push for biofuels.    Saying not only would billions of people starve but also that the environment would be harmed. 

Yes, we need to get rid of Oil as a source of fuel.  Yes, corn would be a cheaper alternative but is it really better for the environment?  Now, environmental groups and scientists are saying that it is NOT better for the environment when you consider everything that goes into making the biofuels.  So, is it again about money?  

Do I personally think Fidel Castro was right?  Absolutely.  Now, before you start saying I am anti-American, let me explain why.  However, before I explain why – shouldn’t all knowledge be worth looking at it no matter who said it?  Why should the person you hate most in this world have nothing to teach you?  Just because you hate that person does not mean they do not have anything meaningful to say.  You need to approach this as a teacher would to a student.  If the student came up with an idea that the teacher disagreed with or never thought of before, should the teacher spend time thinking about what the student has said or should the teacher treat his student as if he could never learn anything from him/her?  I personally believe that as a teacher one never ceases to learn, so we need to open our eyes and ears to everyone especially when it comes to benefiting the environment.  Now, back to the question at hand.  Why do I think that Fidel Castro was right? 

1. As anyone with the most basic knowledge of Economics can tell you price is determined by supply and demand.  Yes, corn is cheap now, but what will happen to the price of corn when you start requesting 100’s of millions of tons of corn?  The price will go up and this will affect the poor EVERYWHERE.  Now, in order to prevent the price from going up – you have to increase the supply.  How are we going to do that?  From what I see prices of land all over the world is going up and up.  If we use existing land then prices of other foods will go up as other foods are being replaced.  We are decreasing the supply of those other items so their price must go up.
2. If poorer countries start participating in the fuel oil plan we can kiss our rainforests goodbye!  We already know farmers care little about rainforests when they can see money in their pocket for destroying it. 
3. Look at what happened in the plains of America when we cut down too many trees, growing crops became close to impossible because of the wind.  Will this happen all over the world when you start requesting huge amounts of corn and other items for fuel oil?  I think yes. 

I totally agree we need to get rid of oil as a source of energy.  But, why do we have to have our sites set on food as a source?  Why can’t we think of other items (Note, I am not a scientists, so I don’t know if any of the following ideas are plausable) like Carbon Dioxide (use our pollution as a source), electricity, and trash.

Did you know that one lightning storm can supply enough electricity to power all of America for approximately 20 minutes?  Now unfortunately we do not have a way to convert that raw power into electricity?  Plus our batteries have not come a long way like our computers have.  I believe that if someone (say President Bush or Bill Gates) put up an Xprize (that is how we got a commercial plane into space) for someone to convert this raw power into energy then we would solve a LOT of our environmental problems.

All I am saying is that there has to be other sources of energy other than food (how about desert sand, we have a lot of that! haha).

Japan has stated they are doing Whale research in killing these poor creatures.  Well, what exactly are they researching?  What journals have come out of Japan on Whales?  What new theories do they have to offer?  Why are we kept in the dark?

Or is it just a smoke screen?  A feast in the name of research?
