Famous people get better chance of staying out of jail.

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Have you ever noticed how a famous movie start or athlete gets in trouble with the law and they get probation or a very light sentence?  The “supposed” reasons are that they are a low flight risk and they have done good for the community or something else.  What makes a movie star better than a construction worker or programmer or waitress?  What if the construction worker hasn’t missed any work, has a family and makes a good living, why isn’t he considered not a flight risk?  A rich person has more ability to do good for the community yes, but that does not make him any better than a programmer, waitress or construction worker who has to work 40 hours or more every week.  Just that their jobs are “appreciated” more than others and they get high salary for it.

The point is that it is not fair to treat famous people better.  We need a fair equal system to decide who gets to stay out of jail or who goes into jail.

Another Celeb, Another DUI

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Pay a big enough fine, and you don’t do time. That’s the message from the latest celebrity escape. Micha Barton, from the O.C., is the latest celebrity to be released on a DUI charge without any jail time. It’s also handy to know that you can also have charges for marijuana possession dropped as long as you smoke enough so that there isn’t enough left for the cops to find. From The Bush girls to ranting Mel Gibson, the only message that seems to get through is this – be careful what you do, until you’re rich enough to do it recklessly.

The Right Man for the Wrong Job

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

Court cases are becoming more and more a “sport” for each lawyer rather than a process of justice. Nowadays, as long as the lawyer is astute enough in the game of law, almost any accused person can escape punishment, normally without even a verdict on the case. As our lawyers become smarter and learn more and more tricks of the trade, the more law cases become a game where those that can afford the right person, can avoid consequences. Pity the accused that cannot afford the experienced lawyer, and gets left trying to escape a harsh punishment for a simple crime. As long as the quality of legal defence is defined by the amount of cash that can be supplied, we can never truly have a fair and equal system of law.

I don’t think this is right !I think we are all equal! Nomatter we are rich or not !no one  have  right to decide others life .That means,if they do something that the government are not allowed. they should be treated same .It’s no reason that he or shi must be punished,he or she must go to jail because he or she is very poor or they go free, because they are poor!

Money makes justice system unfair?

It seems if you are rich enough you can get out on bail no matter what they set the bail at.  However, if you are poor, you will always spend time in jail until your hearing.  How can this be fair at all?
